I am a wildlife painter, inspired by the history of botanical and zoological illustration, where the combination of scientific observation and admiration for natural beauty are captured in careful composition and draftsmanship. I aim for technicality and a striking use of light and colour to create natural history illustrations full of detail and character. I work in mixed media, using acrylic or gouache for brightness and vivacity and pencil to reproduce finer lines and features.
